Been nice and productive the past few days, including starting and finishing a couple of simple scarves. At the weekend, Emma and I went to the LYS and she fell in love with some glittery fluffy novelty yarn (Sirdar Zanzibar) and it was only 99p, so she bought it and I knit her up a simple garter stitch scarf on my 20mms.
( Purrr... )We went to have dinner with Mum yesterday because she was in Preston overnight, and she reminded me that it's Nanny's birthday at the weekend, so it was emergency scarf time.
( Wanna see? )And yes, that is the first of my shiny new labels from Cash's which arrived last week. Aren't they pretty? The basic pattern is at the bottom of this post.
I've cast on two new projects. The first is for a KAL on the Let's Knit forum. It's Juno Regina from Knitty, and I'm using a merino/silk blend laceweight yarn from the Natural Dye Studio.
( First wee bit... )There's not much yet, but it's going OK. It's really engaging to knit - keeps you on your toes without being unfathomable.
While I was waiting for that yarn to arrive (it got here yesterday) I cast on a project using some cotton yarn. With any luck it'll be a summery top somewhen, but at the minute this is all it is...
( Oooooh... )Uh-huh, those are circs. I must be out of my mind. I hate circs.
There are also a few more skeins of yarn.
( Clicky for piccies )Since I've got a growing pile now, I've weighed, measured and labelled it and
I've posted an archive
here. How dull am I?
I'm really in love with the way the white and pastel one came together. Charl suggested 'Saltwater Taffy' for a name and that sounded grand to me! Not sure it's something I'd ever use for myself though - the colours are a wee bit pale for my tastes now it's spun up.
